My GoDaddy Smart Terminal Pro screen is blank

If the display on your GoDaddy Smart Terminal Pro is blank or unresponsive, follow these troubleshooting steps to try to get it working again.

Note: Have a different device? Check out our troubleshooting tips for the GoDaddy Poynt Smart Terminal or the GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex.

We recommend completing the steps in the following order until you find the one that resolves your issue.

Step 1: Charge the Smart Terminal Pro

Verify that the battery is charged and the device has power.

  1. Confirm that the accessory hub is connected tightly to the base of the stand.

  2. Plug the USB-C power cable into the hub and into the power adapter. Connect the power adapter to a power source.

  3. Verify that the display is connected correctly to the stand.
    • The connector port on the back of the display should be aligned with the connector port on the stand. You should hear the connectors lock into place.

    • The chip card slot should be at the top of the payment screen.

  4. Allow it to charge for 3.5 hours. While it’s charging, you can lightly tap the power button on the side of the device to see the current battery charge.
Note: If your device isn’t turning on or charging at all, a power problem is likely the root of your issue. Please review our Smart Terminal Pro power troubleshooting for additional help.
  5. Once the smart terminal is fully charged, press and hold the power button for at least 3 seconds to turn it on and see if the screen displays.

Step 2: Reboot your device

Try performing a hard reset to reboot the Smart Terminal Pro.

  1. With your device still connected to a power source, press and hold the power button for about 8 seconds. Ignore any message box or prompt that pops up on the screen.
  2. Release the power button. The device will reboot on its own.
  3. Wait about 8 seconds and see if the logo and home menu display on the screen.
